Dee Carey's The Fox and the Swan is a Hit!

The Fox and the Swan

A. Dee Carey has spun a magical web that makes one suspend reality and cheer her morphed characters on. Although this is not the type of genre I personally read, I found myself swept up in the storyline that was peopled with strong characters that formed a complete population of essential beings—not one too many and not one too few.

The Fox and the Swan is a story where the step-mother truly is a witch. The plot, the arranged marriage of a young girl to a curmudgeon to save her family, is one that is tried and true but definitely has a different twist with sorcery and religion becoming compatible.

The transition of humans to animals was so believable one never lost faith in the story and I had to read it to its conclusion in a short time. A. Dee Carey keeps you wondering about the outcome all the way through. The setting in Scotland rings so true you are visually whipped across the sea and live the Highland life while the story unfolds. Recollections of Narnia crept into my mind as I was reading as it certainly carried that flavor of magic and the struggle between good and evil.

Whether you read fantasy or not, I recommend The Fox and the Swan as a good love story that plays out blending fantasy and reality that makes you believe in it and its characters.

I loved the tenderness and love shown to Alexis by Alcron, as well as the total trust Alexis places in Alcron to keep her safe. Long Hard Winter is such a wonderful story that it ended long before I was ready. Ms. Carrington continues to prove that she is an outstanding writer with this current holiday Quickie. Her characters are well-rounded imperfection. They have flaws and fears that make you want to hold them until everything is all right again. She also writes some of the steamiest love scenes on the market today. I was ready for a cold shower by the time I finished this story. Keane and Allyn play off each other’s passions so very well. They need each other to be the whole well rounded people that they should be. This is a great holiday story that conveys the best of the holiday season.

Rachel Carrington's Nights in Black Satin scores high!

Nights in Black Satin continues the trend of well written "light" witch stories. Noelle may not be the greatest witch of the coven but is a hard working one with a determined air. Jacob is the kind of alpha male de facto leader of the family, but bears his tasks well. Noelle and Jacob play off each other splendidly and their conversations make the book. While their connection seemed odd at first, it quickly builds to attraction and enduring love. Noelle and Jacob are straight forward and believable, and I instantly empathized with them. Neither gave up their family responsibilities while being honest and open about their desire. Every little girl who watched Disney's Sleeping Beauty will love Noelle's aunts, and while the "bad" witch is pesky, I kept waiting for her to say “Noelle, Noelle, Noelle” in a Jan Brady whine. The sex is wonderful and super hot. Jacob is an unbelievable lover, and this is a great part of the book. The open conclusion makes me hope the sequel to Nights in Black Satin will come soon.

Kate Steele's The Orb of Atrios was a great read that kept me enthralled from beginning to end. The characters were interesting, three-dimensional and easy to relate to. Lea's especially endeared herself to me because when she found herself in a strange land with foreign customs and more, she was still able to handle herself with remarkable aplomb. I can only hope that I would be able to react similarly if I found myself in that kind of situation.

Dare was a very masculine, extremely sexy hero that set my heart racing. Sex between Lea and him was scorchingly hot. If Dare's sexual prowess is any indication, more women will want to visit Atrios , sooner rather than later.

The Orb of Atrios was a delightful read by Kate Steele and the perfect way to wile away a few hours. I can'twait to read Ms. Steele's next offering.

Kate's Steele wins with another reivew!

Kate Steele has written a very hot, sensual short story about two very different people who have to succumb to their fate and realise that the Mother Goddess knows what’s best. She has written two very wonderful characters that will have the reader sitting on the edge of her seat, wondering if these two will finally give in. The sexual tension sizzles throughout the pages and the love scenes are hot, sensuous and romantic. Ms. Steele certainly knows how to turn up the heat with loves scenes that will melt the monitor. Both of these star struck lovers fall very hard. Though a short story, Ms Steele packs a powerful punch that will have the reader hanging onto every page. Not a word is wasted and the reader is kept in suspense until the very end. This reviewer enjoyed this story very much although it kept her squirming in her seat. It remains to be seen if any more stories will be written about this world she has created, maybe about Galatin?

I really loved Nick. He pushes for what he wants and isn’t willing to allow a simple surrender to occur. Sexually, I found myself getting wrapped up in their chemistry. Due to their history of working together, I could sense more than the sexual relationship between Steph and Nick, which made their growing love story both a believable as well as a pleasurable read.

Sylvia Day’s Snaring the Huntress has to be, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most intense short erotic futuristic rides I’ve read recently. It is the sort of story that you HAVE to re-read again as soon as you are finished it. This is what you can certainly call a short story packed with a punch.

Very quick paced and quite short in length (at less than 30 pages) the reader can’t help but fall in love with both Star, who belongs to a renowned race of hunters and as such is a heroine of the kick ass variety, and with Roark, the rogue Jacian ambassador with ulterior motives. The main love scene literally forced me to take a break with its raw intensity and sensuality. I was fascinated with the whole set up and with the alien races Ms. Day introduces, and frankly, I would dare suggest to her to write something a little longer involving both races. They are nothing short of fascinating. If Snaring the Huntress is an example of Ms. Day’s writing ability … SIGN ME IN! This is one author I certainly intend to include in my autobuy list.

Kate's Steele's Orb of Atrios Gets Joyfully Reviewed!

The concept of the Orb captivated me as completely as it did Lea! With The Orb of Atrios Ms. Steele creates a fantastic tale that had me turning the pages well past midnight. Her characters are credible, likable and well drawn. The emotional connection between Dare and Lea is powerful and heartfelt. While Dare is a strong, dominant and sometimes arrogant man, he tries to be tender, loving and patient when dealing with his new mate. Lea is a soft, loving, yet feisty heroine and I found myself cheering on her small rebellions as she was finding her way in a new world. The sex was hot and delectable with the heat index increasing as I read. Because of Dare’s possessive nature, a ménage scene was an unexpected, yet thoroughly delicious, surprise. I’m looking forward to reading more about the land of Atrios, and hope to see Ran’s book soon. Kate Steele has scored a winner with The Orb of Atrios!

Patricia Crossley Gets Four Lighthouses!

The author has a gift for painting word pictures in this novel. Whether in 1600 or 2400, Kari and Aiden’s situation is vividly described. The reader will feel like she is in that time period. I loved Kari’s devotion to her wolfhound Ben. The unlikely romance between the 20th century woman and the 24th century man in the 16th century could be cumbersome, but the author handles it well. Their love story is very good, although the shadowy villain from the future could be better described, I could never get a handle on just who he was. This is a really gripping time travel romance, and I recommend it to fans of that genre or to fans of historical romance.

Lealah Redmond happens upon an orb while in an antique shop. By picking it up, she starts on a journey toward the man of her dreams, or at least the man that’s been haunting her erotic dreams lately. Darien Finn Mal, the leader of Atrios, has sent out the orb to find his perfect submissive mate as is the long held tradition among his clan. When she arrives via storm and lightning, is he prepared to deal with a modern Earth girl?The moral of this story is “Enjoy getting what you wish for.” Or is it “Be careful what you wish for?” Lealah tells her best friend exactly what she wants in a relationship at the beginning of the book and the rest of the story is about her dealing with the reality of receiving those wants and desires. I commend Ms. Steele’s handling of Lealah’s reactions to her new life in a realistic manner where other authors have asked their readers to suspend belief. Lealah demands time to process what’s happened and asks some hard questions before she accepts her new life. This aspect is usually glossed over very quickly in paranormal romances.

I have only one complaint about this story. There is a sex scene that develops from a minor subplot towards the very end that comes completely out of left field and feels gratuitous. I rather enjoyed the scene as a standalone but I didn’t feel it integrated well into the two main characters’ relationship development or the book as a whole. Overall, the chemistry between Lealah and Darien is very hot and leads to many smoldering sex scenes worthy of savoring again and again. The orb itself is actually my favorite part and reminds me of a similar orb from a non-romance sci-fi series. It has some surprises of its own. Its last act in this story is a doozy and convinces me that there will be a hot juicy sequel in the future.

Lea and Dare are a yummy couple. At first I thought she was going along with the “whole you’ve just been dumped in another dimension and destined to mate this guy” (OK, an incredibly hot guy) a little too calmly, but she reasonably dug in her heels and called a temporary halt to things until she felt comfortable with the arrangement. But how comfortable can you be when all you really want to do is have wild monkey sex with the guy who wants you just as much? From a masturbation scene to the very last love scene, the love making in this book is hot and varied. By the way, Dare has an equally delectable brother and couples sharing their love is not forbidden in this culture. There are some major cultural differences that have to be confronted and worked through, but this is a couple that is crazy for each other. There is also strong story support from a number of Dare’s family members-some of whom I expect to see in later stories. This is an enjoyable world I look forward to visiting again.

Katie has a thing for Joe the security guard, she loves the look of his body and a man in uniform with handcuffs and nightstick really lights a fire beneath her desire. She travels down the elevator and to the vault every day to store the casino's money in the vault. Today she had decided it was time to make a move she is tired of waiting. Reaching the vault she asks him if they ever saw anything interesting in the security camera, like couples sneaking off to a corner.

Joe told her no it was mostly boring. Once she returns to her office she locks the door and puts on a sex show for Joe, making the fantasy real she calls him on the phone to make sure he was seeing everything. When it's all over she returns to doing her work. Joe appears in her office, demanding that she come with him, and to bring her purse and coat. Was she losing her job of her? Will Joe finally give her what she put the show? This short store cut right through the excess, yet gives you a good description of the character and the plot is intriguing.

Hot to the Touch is an enlightening ‘quickie’ about a woman who desires to explore her sexuality in the arms of a young man and her desire not to be married to a man with one foot in the grave. Within the first few chapters, I was immediately pulled into Claudia’s life. I watched her grow from a somewhat, reserved little girl into a bold, spicy woman who was not afraid to seek her pleasures with Karl. Hot to the Touch mostly focused on Claudia; however, I could easily tell that Karl was an alpha-type male who just happened to be forced into slavery. As a couple, Claudia and Karl sizzle hotly in bed and their sexual encounters were very stimulating in nature. Ms. Dawson has done a wonderful job of writing a charming story that showcased very passionate characters.

The Orb of Atrios is a sizzling erotic adventure that smolders and then burns itself into your imagination. Lea and Dare were able to capture my imagination and set it aflame with their own unique love. And I loved the way that Lea was able to apologize to Dare for her inappropriate behavior and also how Dare was able to trust his brother Ran with such an important detail. Ms. Steele was able to charm me with her wonderfully written story and hold me until the end. Both women are gorgeous, but one woman is ultra-willing and overly ambitious; the other is intellectually demanding and untouchable. Madison Foxe enlivens her characters and gives them personality plus in this tale. Lust and Found in Paradise - Tarot: Four of Cups is well-written and moves along quite quickly. Dylan is a man torn between the waste of his life and the possible trauma of involving himself in living life. Ms. Foxe pens a pleaser of a tale about getting to know one’s self here, putting me in mind of Aesop’s fables; Lust and Found in Paradise - Tarot: Four of Cups is a story with a moral and a message.

Eight is Never Enough by Trixie Stilleto & T. D. McKinney is a wonderful short story that had some funny moments. I found the way F.S. and Debbie worked through their problems charming. However, in the beginning I wanted to smack F.S. for being mean to Debbie. It was funny to see his turnabout happen so quickly. The characters are alive with real emotions and you feel right along with them. The aspect of the knight in shining armor riding to the rescue of the damsel in distress was delightfully done. I recommend Eight Is Never Enough for a great addition to your library of cute romances.

Four Angel Review for Sylvia Day

This is one quick, hot read! Magic Fingers is a sweet love story combined with some tantalizing foreplay and steamy sex. Alison seems to be a little introverted and attempts to come out of her shell enough to tell James her true feelings, but she never really succeeds. When she finally realizes his feelings, she finds it hard to believe that someone so sexy would want her. As for James, he has to tread cautiously. He wants Alison but is unsure of her true feelings for him. She is the most responsive woman he’s ever met, but also one of the least aggressive. Woman continually give him keys to their rooms, but not Alison. He has to trust his instincts and boy does he have good ones! I liked the fact that although they are both attracted to each other and wary of the other’s feelings, they reach out to each other. I especially liked that James is the one to actually make the first move and that his feelings for Alison are genuine. This attraction is something seemingly out of character for Alison, but once given the opportunity, she goes for it. For a sizzling, short story, get your hands on Magic Fingers.

Whew!! This is one steamy, hot read. The reader will be reaching for the buckets of ice by the gallon. Not only is this a sexy, hot read, but it is a very emotional one as Te has to cope with the grief of watching his foster father die, find a way to show Jacey that he is not going back to his old life, and prove to the rest of the conclave that he is the leader they need. No easy feat, and Mary Winter has packed a lot of emotion into this story and the reader will not only be reaching for the ice bucket, but for the tissues too. There is nothing wrong with seeing a grown, powerful sorcerer cry and makes the hero even more endearing. Jacey is a strong woman who fights for her rights, even through doubts. The secondary characters of the remaining foster brothers demand their own stories which no doubt Mrs. Winter will deftly supply. This reviewer gives thumbs up for the start of what looks like to be a very exciting series.

Delilah Devlin's Uncovering Navarro is really fantastic book. It's the fifth instalment of her successful My Immortal Knight Series, but can be read as a stand-alone, although I can really recommend the other books from this series. The characters from this book are great and you'll have a lot of fun to get know them. Sidney is funny, sometimes crazy person. She loves sex, but only when there are no further feelings involved, but as soon as she meets Navarro she begins to rethink her former opinion about love and sex. But that's no wonder, because Navarro is a to-die-for hero. He is so "yummy". He is the ultimate alpha male, but you can't help yourself and you'll fall in love with him. You'll want to soothe his tortured soul. Uncovering Navarro is like all My Immortal Knight books a real keeper and I really hope that there will be many more instalments of this series!

I’ve always liked the tough women characters, and Sidney is definitely that. Cadan’s Cause by Mary Winter is a beautiful endeavor in science fiction romance. Romance blooms under adverse conditions on a strange planet full of wondrous creatures and beauty. Cadan and Marassa are strong individuals wary of trusting but perfectly trust-worthy. I found myself falling for them both as they fall for each other. The Centaurs and Walnik create the background that gives Cadan and Marassa depth without distracting the reader from the focus of the story. I love reading science fiction and I love reading erotic romance; Ms. Winter has provided a delicious work of art where I get to indulge both of my reading loves. I must say that I am eagerly anticipating Wilnik’s story and hope it will be forthcoming.

I enjoyed reading Cadan’s Cause by Ms. Winter. She is talented at bringing her characters to life. The vivid description of the love that Cadan and Marassa share is a welcome part of their story. He takes his self-imposed responsibility for the Centaurs seriously. Marassa’s struggle to do right by both her cousin and the Centaurs, which shows her as the strong independent woman that she is. The author draws readers into the pages of history through Nikometros’ eyes. Nikometros begins to note the great king making strategical errors, and his words of advice fall on deaf ears. Within Alexander’s elite governing force of generals there is constant uncontrolled bickering. Although readers may know the outcome of Alexander’s tale, this story is so realistic that I found myself reading quite quickly, eager to learn the final outcome. Funeral in Babylon is excellent read as a solo story, but readers who are following the tale of the lovers, Nikometros and Tomyra, and their companions will also be satisfied with this instalment. As the story begins, readers will see the Scythian riders passing by and are compelled to follow. It is fitting that, in the final pages, a large procession again sets off, this time, readers are left looking into the dust of its wake; history has been told. I would recommend that the series, The Lion of Scythia, be read as a trilogy for maximum enjoyment.

I have been much anticipating the second book in the Underground Guardians series as I’ve been interested in seeing more of the characters introduced in PROTECTOR, Diego in particular. Lisa Renee Jones does not disappoint with HEALER. There was plenty of action, great love scenes and a good story. I enjoyed the interactions between Marcella and Diego, not onlythe love scenes but also their conversations as they got to know each other. The differences in their worlds, and their individual experiences make for more interesting characters, and Ms. Jones definitely succeeded in making them interesting. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series, and hope that Ms. Jones doesn’t keep me waiting too long.The fight between good and evil continues in Lisa Renee Jones’ HEALER, as she introduces yet another Black Knight, Diego Montez. This is an entertainingbook that I have been eagerly awaiting.

Diego is the prime of alpha male yet when this reviewer read the scenes between him and Marcella, the love and passion flowed like a fire through the pages. The flow of the book was fast paced as well as gives the reader the feel of being on a rollercoaster.
From start to finish, this is surely one of Ms. Jones best works to date. With a climatic ending as well as passionate sex between Diego and Marcella, Ms. Jones weaves a tale spun from her imagination to tantalize and tease the reader and leave them wanting more!! Underground Guardians: Healer is one of those rare books that will keep getting better after you read it each and every time. The only drawback was Ms. Jones leaves the reader standing at the end as the fight with the Arions continues. If you love the legend of Camelot and love fantasy, you will definitely like this unusual take on King Arthur’s Court and the Knights of the Round Table. Other than some initial confusion in the first couple of chapters where A Dee Carey jumps around a bit trying to pack a lot of information into a short space, the story flows full of adventure and intrigue.

Reserved and somewhat timid by nature, Mora refuses to let Tetrik's size intimidate her or let him ride rough shod over her, even when her knees were knocking, which is really touching. And the sex, my! I was searching for a tall glass of iced water as I read how Tetrik's warriors ripened Mora for the marriage bed. Tetrik is delicious as the ultimate warrior who refuses to admit any tender emotions, but shows it by his actions. These two are wonderful together. Just beautiful!

His cockiness and self-assuredness is expressed very well by the author, so much so that it makes him even more loveable and endearing. Jasmine is caught in the middle. Between hating Ares and what his wars have cost her family, she also wants him desperately for one night just to have that intimacy and sexual gratification that has been lost to her for years. Their sexual attraction and the expression of said attraction is written so well and is so yummy, that as a reader you just cannot get enough, just like the insatiable Ares. If this is a good indication as to how this series is going to be, I am a fan, hook, line, and sinker. Bravo!

Jennifer DeCamillo has written a book that wasn't afraid to take a chance and explore it all. The PRICE OF PEACE tells a story that should not be missed under any circumstances. And again love has to withstand lies and intrigues. But at the end Ares has still to proof his love for Jasmine and I'm more than anxious to know how he will do it. All who haven't read Royal Blood before won't have problems to enjoy the story fully, but to get a better feeling and understanding for the actions of the protagonists I would recommend it.

This is a very erotic and emotional short story. Like Ms Carrington's previous Sons of Zeus book, Royal Blood, this story packs quite a punch with out and out sex, as well as, heartfelt emotion with Ares trying with all his might to keep Jasmine with him forever and Jasmine realizing that Ares would give up everything to have her. Unfortunately, the seeds of distrust Hera plants in Jasmine's mind is enough to cause even the most secure of women to question their lover. Jasmine still cares very deeply for Ares but is so fearful of him deceiving and leaving her that she cannot look beyond her innate distrust. Even at the end of the story many questions are still left unanswered, which would usually irritate me, but it just piqued my interest to read the next installment of Ares and Jasmine's love affair. The sex scenes are quite abundant and very steamy in this short story. Ares is definitely a passionate god. Jasmine's insecurities are well understood especially with Hera's influence, so it will be quite interesting to see how Ms. Carrington deals with this in the next story. I highly recommend you read Royal Blood first so you can get the beginnings of Ares and Jasmine's relationship. Both stories are quite good and quite addicting - and so very enjoyable.

That there is a female dominated planet intrigues me, though I am not surprised that even in fiction, the females find themselves under threat from male dominance. This is a great erotic science fiction romance, containing several inventive aspects that have evolved straight out of Ms White’s very active imagination. Various sexual themes are mentioned in this tale, including double penetration and anal sex, but are not discussed or described in great depth. Therefore, even if these areas are not your cup of tea, I still recommend you give this story a go. I enjoyed it; I would think you would, too.

Since this is a short story, it is really hard for me to say anything more without giving away what's little that I haven't given away in my synopsis. However, it is very easy for me to wish that the story is longer, that Meandros is just a starting chapter in a full-length novel. While most of the sex scenes are in the form of flashbacks of Tammi with Tom (Tammi and Tom - I know, how disgustingly precious), they don't come off as gratuitous or sleazy as much as they are scenes to reaffirm the bond Tammi had with Tom, which is one of best friends and lovers. I actually have a lump in my throat as I read the last few paragraphs of this short story. How many short stories can do that to me, huh?
Meandros is a short, well-written, and inspiring story without becoming too sentimental or didactic. The only serious flaw I can find with this book is the gnawing frustration eating at me by the time I finish this story because I really, really want this story to be so much longer.

And when I say "all" I mean it: witches, warlocks, werewolves, love, lust, romance, flirts, pre-teenage triplets that create havoc, busty post-teenage triplets that chant naked under the moon, vampyres, naked vampyres, dragons, half-dragons, harpies, fairies, trolls, demons, half-demons, mother-in-laws, toads? It is not so much an anthology but a book, and the chapters in it have all been written by different authors. All the stories depict the normal day-to-day life in the little hamlet Brokenoggin Falls - NOT! Nothing about Brokenoggin Falls is even remotely normal. Even demon slayers give it a wide berth. It is just considered safer not to go there. You will get to know such lovely characters as Janice, two-centuries-and-a-bit old, more than just a were-wolf, sheriff, who, by the way, is deeply in love with an amnesiac vampyre. Should I mention that he usually runs around naked? Hmmm, something he has in common with the warlock Gavin, whose daily stroll down the street has the women drooling after him. Or the love-sick centaur and UPS driver, Rowdy Vanderlight who finds out that his love, Tulah, is also the sexy post mistress. You'll just love Mavis' new gardener, or maybe suffer a bit with Morgan/Titiana/Morganna the fairy queen. I can't really decide which story I loved most. These stories are Desperate Housewives gone Paranormal. Hilariously funny, very sensual, at times very erotic but always unpredictable and absorbing. The community which is made up of witches, normal women, a female pastor, who is in love with an ex-demon, is so wonderfully different. Yet even though some of them are nosy know-it-alls, they all pull together to help each other in times of need. Or get together for a lingerie evening which, of course, turn out a little differently than the ex demon-slayer, hosting the lingerie party, expected. And not only is your pleasure guaranteed, you can also have a good conscience spending money on the book, because all proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the International Red Cross.

I believe that the 20 authors who came together to make this anthology really let their hair down with this one! Although each author only had a few pages, altogether they were able to put together a reasonably coherent and cohesive set of stories that make up a quirky and eccentric set of inhabitants. There is very little room for intricate plots and characterizations considering the nature of this book. With 20 authors participating and 234 pages, that’s roughly about 11.7 pages per author—so don’t expect anything too intricate. There is a really fresh and fun-loving attitude that echoes out of this book and many readers will find that it is a really good piece of work, more so when they find out that it is for a good cause and that 100% of the proceeds will go to charity. It’s a very light and easy read, one that will surely tickle you pink and make you blush just a little bit, Bewitched, Bothered & BeVampyred is an truly interesting look at what we non-magic creatures are missing. It can definitely make you laugh, have fun and give you enough reason to let your hair down! When you get this book, I suggest you read it bit by bit, one or two stories at a time. It’s certainly more fun that way because each author has a different voice and style and so each story should be seen with new eyes.

The third story, Hidden Heart, by Kate Steele, is about a nature loving toy maker named Lindy. She has been disappointed by love and turned all of her energy into her teddy bear business. She donates a great deal of her money to a foundation that researches bears. The head of the research group invites her to come stay with them. They are all friendly except for one man, Rafe Kutter, and that is the man she is very attracted to.
All three stories are very good, although my favorite is the last. The sex and love scenes are very potent in all three novellas. Although short, each story is very complete and the characters are very well drawn and realistic. I recommend this collection and would read more from each of the authors here.

This is a raucous good book. It has some great comedic moments and many, many erotic scenes packed into so few pages. Dennis at first seems so the player without so much as a morality meter or a picture of women beyond sex objects. When he faces Brandy's ire and Mandy's compassion you begin to see a chip in his emotional apathy and even he is surprised by these indescribable feelings he feels towards Mandy. Mandy and Brandy both had me apprehensive about this book because it opens with the two of them going to bed with Dennis, a complete stranger. I was not sure how the author would progress with the story and how this ménage would lead to a love story because usually a love story does not materialize after a one night stand between two best friends and a stranger . Boy was I wrong, Ms. Redding taught me patience because despite this very erotic beginning a very nice relationship and subsequent love story comes about. Dennis is a very horny devil and he displays his prowess and insatiability for women throughout this book, especially with Mandy. Mandy is a good character. She does not stand out as a great heroine but she holds her own with the brilliance that is Dennis. This is an enjoyable book that will make you smile and want a randy, amnesiac god as your own.

Especially nice is, that the characters don’t have to change and conform to their chosen partner’s lifestyles and still they manage to find common ground without bending and giving up their dreams. Stephanie and Logan don’t just lust after each other but show respect. For the story and character development no arguments are needed. It’s their mutual search for the person they need and want to be that binds them together.
Add the typical small town characters and you get a fun and sizzling summer read. The setting and constant rain might not make it a likely choice, but I beg to differ.

Ms. Carrington’s compelling writing kept me riveted from the first word to the last. Quinn and Gabi are intense characters with realistic emotions. Both of them have skeletons in the closet. So, though their amazing lovemaking happens early, their emotional relationship builds a bit more cautiously. The surrounding characters are very vividly drawn and add a good deal to the storyline. The reader gets a sense of life in a close-knit community suddenly thrust into the horror of recurring murders.I enjoyed Till We Meet Again so much that I’m awarding it Recommended Review status on top of its 5 Angel rating. Put on your thinking cap, as I did, and try to figure out who the killer is. I was baffled and amazed to find out who did it, and you'll be surprised as well. The suspense encompasses you totally, making you wish that Quinn will find the serial killer who is committing such heinous crimes. At the same time, you are rooting for Gabi and Quinn, hoping against all hope that he can convince her to have a permanent and solid relationship like his family has with their loved ones. I was guessing all through the story as to who could be the killer, and Till We Meet Again by Rachael Carrington kept me guessing till the end. If you like a suspense-filled romance with a twisting plot, this one is for you! Till We Meet Again is an enjoyable read that keeps you on your toes until the very last page.

This book is an epic with over 400 pages devoted to Marina and Miguel's rocky, but very intense relationship. These two characters are very hard to like, you want to like them but they easily do things to each other or to themselves that is just so upsetting. In the midst of reading this book I found myself thinking quite a bit about the characters while driving or running errands because like a name you just cannot remember this book haunted me. Despite their self destructive choices and lifestyle the two had such a passionate relationship that was based on what I felt was their definition of love. The story is quite expansive that many subplots are brought up that further enhances the need and want to know what happens that kept me turning the pages avidly. Even now that I have concluded reading this book I still catch myself thinking about the characters and their motives - and many whys. There are many erotic scenes that are far from heartwarming and tender, yet with this story I do not feel "lovey dovey" sentiment would have worked. There is also quite a bit of violence that goes a long with the storyline. I have to say that this is not a book type I would normally read because it is so gritty and extreme that it was not light reading for me. Because of its depth and intensity I was riveted and had to know what would happen even though it was 3am in the morning. The author did a fantastic job of keeping me interested and forcing me to think outside the pages. Personally the conclusion for me left me saying "What!!!", the ending is not tidy but once you read and understand Marina and Miguel's relationship nothing could ever be tidy especially the end to their story.

Heavy Metal Seduction: Voices and Lies naturally used a fairly common fantasy amongst women: to meet that incredibly sexy musician and have him make love to you, romance you, fall in love with you. Surprisingly, it was handled better than I expected, with more realism than the average romance with that plot. I liked Alicia for the most part, but had a problem with the way she handled the situation with William. It made her human but, while I briefly sympathized with her, I felt it was all her fault for displaying herself has something else and going along with assumptions about what she liked, rather than William's fault. Of course, the use of slight deception by both Alicia and Derek made for a rather interesting aspect on their trust issues, and I found the conclusion realistic for the story. I liked the approach to the romance in this story. Yes, attraction and sex played a large part for both characters initially, but Derek and Alicia both found themselves feeling emotions other than lust the more time they spent together, time that didn't involve sex. But since I've mentioned sex, I must say it was an enjoyable part of the book. Not the average sex I read in erotic romances, it had a carnality all its own. Overall, Voices and Lies made a very enjoyable erotic romance, with characters I liked reading about.

This is a very good book. The characters are written so real and are so enjoyable to learn about. Derek is what every fan of a heartthrob musician dreams about. This is truly what a historical romance aspires to be. It is so richly descriptive about Civil War New Orleans and the people inhabiting it that even the minutest of detail is discussed with clarity and insight. It is a bit overwhelming to start at 300 plus pages, but once the story grabs hold of you the pages fly by and you are fully immersed in the story and feel kinship to each and every character. Each of the six main characters in this book are so unique and their stories so interesting it is a wonder this novel is not far longer or broken into three volumes for each pair's love story. Angele and James are by far the two central characters and their story is fantastic. The love they share for one another is written so well and their joy and pain become your joy and pain. This is not a novel with highly sexual scenes, it is a romance with tender but few love scenes, so if you are looking for erotica this is not your book. I would classify this book as in the style of historical romances by Heather Graham and Judith McNaught. You will find rich detail intermixed with true historical events and people, as well as, pull at your heart moments between all the characters. I truly enjoyed this book and learned quite a bit about the Civil War and New Orleans. This definitely is a heart-warmer of a story with some teeth and characters you believe in and want to see happy. Well done!

My Secret Yankee was a joy to read. It is rich in historical detail without being over powering. In fact, the attention to detail gives real depth to the characters and the plot and really brings New Orleans to life. Although the plot pivots on the love affair between Angele and James, it is complimented by the long standing relationship of Séverin and his lover Antoine and their constant tap dancing to keep their love on the right side of respectable, as well as the emerging romance of Wes and Charlie. The reticence of Angele to acknowledge her relationship with James could be a huge obstacle for the character to gain any sympathy. However, Ms. McKinney and Ms. Masion draw such a vivid description of society and its restrictions you cannot help but feel her and the agony she goes through when she realizes her mistake of not publicly acknowledging her love for James.This book is both uplifting and heart wrenching at different times, with even a few sparks of humour thrown in. I only wish Wes and Charlie and Séverin and Antoine had books of their own.

Chaos: Prequel to Leader of the Pack is a peek into the somewhat twisted relationship between the borderline-suicidal Tee and the powerful, intense Chaos. Told in the first person by Tee, we see the protagonist from Wanton Werewolves Book 1: Leader of the Pack, Chaos, as something other than a power-hungry psychotic. We see him now as a werewolf who loves and can be loved. This is not your everyday love story. Ms. Weldon has taken Chaos and Tee - characters you are sure not to like - and given them dimensions that pull at your heartstrings. This somewhat psychotic relationship is so far beyond the norm that, while it may not appeal to all, it pulled tears from me. To get such an in depth look into the motivating factors between these two forceful personalities was a treat. For those who have not read the first book, I won’t give away the ending; I will say that Chaos and Tee’s relationship is all the more poignant because of it though. I anxiously await Ms. Weldon’s next work. She is an author not to be missed!

I must say this book is wonderful and such a take on Tee and Chaos that I absolutely fell in love with these two truly hard to love characters. I read the first book in this series before reading this prequel so I knew what happens to these two. Since I knew their outcome I was not sure what to expect -- I truly underestimated Tee and Chao's love story and Ms Weldon's writing ability to express such tenderness between these two aggressive characters. Despite my prior knowledge and their lifestyle this is absolutely a love story and dare I say tender. Chaos was portrayed in the first book as horrible but after reading this book I have to say he is most endearing and his love and passion for Tee is not only heart warming but very intense as is her feelings for Chaos. What I truly loved about this book is that these seemingly strong, independent people who put the fear of God in others were so insecure about themselves and how they were viewed and valued by each other. Like in the first book this book is told in the first person by Tee, which provides great perspective to the story. The erotic scenes are very hot and numerous. When you finish this book you will either re-read the first book or go buy it because their story is so bittersweet that you cannot get enough and want to gobble up ever detail. Ms Weldon did a wonderful job with this story that left me so in love with these two characters which was definitely in opposition to how they first appeared in Leader of the Pack and my reaction to them.

Kayty Smalls is an ordinary woman or so she believes until she picks up the to-die-for sexy Leer in a bar. This is totally so not her but she doesn't even hesitate for a minute. Wow, this is such a hot story it's sizzling. I just adored the way Kayty describes her feelings and her perception of his motives and feelings during their first very passionate encounter. The first person perspective brings a totally new and fresh approach to the whole I'm turning into a werewolf subject. And I just love the way Carys Welden describes his scent and Kayty's reaction to it. Definitely a book that has to be read in private because it just has you squirming on your seat the whole time! What an incredibly intense book and oh so erotic. From the opening pages Leer is totally an alpha male and has this magnetism that reels the reader and Kayty right in. He is her hero and knight errant -- with such a sexual hunger and latent aggression that fuels Kayty to such heights of want, need, and desire. I loved it! With the added paranormal and werewolf shifter take to the story, this book can satisfy almost any erotic reader because the characters and storyline are hot and so very addicting. The eroticism is relentless and the sexual dialogue is wonderful and steamy. There is definite violence and bloodshed in this story, but as you read the violence is expected and understood. The story is written in Kayty's perspective as if this is her journal entry and I really enjoyed this type of story telling. For being such a short book it packs quite a wallop that you can easily fly through it in one sitting. I look forward to reading the sequels in this series and seeing the progression of Leer and Kayty and the secondary character, Fera. A great start to what looks like a great series.

LION IN THE SHADOWS is a very intense story that grabs the reader from page one and never lets go.
Ms. Devlin has created characters that are so realistic that the reader will emphasize with almost immediately. Lani is a woman who is ridden so heavily by her past that she is only feels safe in dark confined places. She needs to confront her fears to be able to move past them to find happiness. Rafe is one incredibly sexy hero that a woman would almost instinctively feel that she could trust to take her to heaven and to see to her safe landing afterwards. Be warned, love scenes between these two are enough to cause spontaneous combustion in the reader, apt to cause envy and some enjoyable experimentation.
The amount of research that obviously went onto this book is incredible. What truly has this reviewer in awe is Ms. Devlin skill in educating the reader about caving while telling such a fascinating story. It is very unusual to learn so much while having such a good time doing it.
LION IN THE SHADOWS is the first of Ms. Devlin’s books that this reviewer has read, however it won't be the last. Any lover of the paranormal and ghosts should read LION IN THE SHADOWS as it is in a class all by itself

Ms Devlin writes a strong plot for her book, one that is totally entertaining to read. Her characters are strong and almost seem to write the story themselves, making the reader feel as if they are really there as the tale unfolds. The action is fast paced and never slows down and the sensual interludes are hot and erotic, at once deeply romantic and sensually passionate. They will leave the reader panting for more. Nicky is a villainous vampire built on the style of the finest classic villains, totally evil with no sappy poor-fellow-just-had-some-bad-breaks qualities that all too many villains are watered down with today. A real villain to love to hate and cheer on the good guys to bring down! In contrast Quentin and Dylan are heroes the reader can’t help wanting to win! Not perfect so that the reader can hate them but with failings and struggles that make it just possible they might not succeed and the reader will instantly identify with and be cheering for them to win by the climax of the book.
Interwoven throughout the book is a very sensitive and well done commentary on how people that are not built like a model are made to feel unsure and bad about themselves; as well as a strong statement that prejudices tend to vanish if you get to know the people you are being judgmental about. This book also skillfully shows the idea that there are good people and bad people in any species or race. Emmy is a woman that many readers will find themselves identifying with. Lushly built, rather than model slim, she has been taught to somehow think of herself as inferior and not worthy of being loved, instead of just of a different shape than some. Her struggles to break free of the binds she feels on her due to her shape is one many a woman encounters and so may give the reader a great deal of hope and a new perspective to view herself by. A fine book of this caliber is hard to find – don’t miss out on it!

Although not for the feint- hearted, The Golden King is a compelling tale of mythological proportions. I look forward to reading the last of the trilogy, Funeral in Babylon to see the final act of Nikometros and Tomyra played out.

As in The Lion of Scythia, Mr. Overton offers a story that can be enjoyed by both men and women as well as all ages alike.
Mr. Overton delighted this reviewer with the obvious growth in his characters. While written closely in time to each other, the author truly hit his stride as a writer in Book Two, The Golden King. Characters became more complex, the locales more developed and the story became a page turner with this reviewer eager to see what would come next.
It is wonderful to see such growth in an author’s work, especially when it is part of a series such as the Lion of Scythia series.

To Trust a Wolf is a remarkable story, one that has a believable quality to it—the world of werewolves seem almost real, as if there truly was an Iron Tower pack that sometimes rivaled with the neighboring Twin Pines pack. And all of these encounters, heated contests and rivalry happening under the nose of mere humans.

Kate Steele portrays women so marvelously well in the story! I have known so many women who have felt like Bryn—they’ve been treated badly and have begun to doubt themselves and their judgment, beginning to entertain insecure thoughts. It is so admirable that Ms. Steele is able to understand what women go through so well—even their everyday experiences are depicted so dynamically. When Bryn and Clare talk to each other it is very animated, very much like how any woman would gossip and chatter with her best friend. All women somehow act that same way around their best friend.

But what I enjoyed most of all in the story was the idea of a man—an alpha—who can dominate a woman and yet at the same time treat her equally simply because he loves her and cares about her so much that he wouldn’t ever take her for granted. That kind of man is really seriously sexy! Men who are confident in their position that they are willing and able to indulge a woman and give her equal rein over the relationship is what a real man is and that is the kind of man that Logan Sutherland is—a real man (with a tendency to turn into a wolf).

Finally, I would like to add that enjoyed the warm companionship that Logan and Bryn shared. It bespoke a really deep understanding between the characters. And it is equally enjoyable that underneath this warm companionship was a sexy and spicy undertone which was a great turn-on. It must have been hard to manage but Ms. Steele pulled it off perfectly. To Trust a Wolf is a masterpiece that is a testament to great writing, keep up the good work, Ms. Steele!

TO TRUST A WOLF is about a woman who must overcome her trust issues and insecurities in order to be with the man of her dreams. Bryn is wary about Logan’s intentions but his gentle seduction soon has her under his spell. She begins to grow more confident in their relationship and more than proves her mettle when she is pushed towards the edge.
Logan is a very strong alpha who uses his presence and skills to help all the packs rather than being a Pack Leader. He knows that Bryn is the one for him but never thought that an unseen enemy would cause him to reveal his lupine nature so quickly. Her acceptance of him just fueled his belief that she is the one for him. They have a chemistry that was exciting to read. However, TO TRUST A WOLF does have a scene that may not be for the faint of heart. This scene does not in any way detract from the overall storyline. TO TRUST A WOLF is a wonderful novel by Ms. Steele and I look forward to the sequel based on some interesting secondary characters.

I was surprised and delighted that To Trust a Wolf caught me from the first paragraph. This book does not let up on the tension (sexual or suspenseful) until the very last word. I felt such sympathy for the pain that Bryn`s ex-husband caused her. Logan is such a sexy assertive Alpha male. His feelings for Bryn are out there for all to see. He so desperately wants to claim her, but his consideration for her feelings kept getting in the way. I loved Bryn`s reaction to seeing Logan change for the first time. Her life altering realization brought tears to my eyes. Ms. Steele has written a wonderfully put together, fast paced, incredibly erotic werewolf novel. There is hope for another novel based on the last scene is To Trust A Wolf.
I cannot wait to see what she pens next.

This is a very tender novel. Logan is every woman's dream. He is considerate, sympathetic, empathetic, and knows exactly what he wants. Bryn is a wounded character and tries her best to avoid Logan and what his attention and presence would mean in her life. In building their relationship the author introduces some great secondary characters that bring out some funny dialogue between them and the main characters. This is a very sweet romance and because of Logan's care and patience he enthralls not only Bryn but also the reader. For me, Logan is different than a lot of the alpha males in other erotic romances. He seems more in touch with his feelings and his lady's feelings. He is not overly impatient with Bryn and gives her time and space to adjust to his interest in the beginning but his 'alpha-ness' does appear as Bryn accepts him and his desires start really pushing him. Do not get me wrong this is not a sugary sweet romance; there are great erotic scenes especially the first sex scene between the two because it involves Logan shifting and Bryn accepting him totally and completely especially when his more alpha characteristics start coming through. The second to last sex scene is definitely one of the most erotic scenes I have read, it involves thirty minutes of constant climaxes between Bryn and Logan (whew, baby). The epilogue gives a glimpse of the follow-up to this book with Logan's smart-mouth friend Jace and Bryn's sister, Hayley, meeting in the most interesting of ways - I cannot wait to read their story!

Gypsy Heart is romance at its best. Sable and Gage are well-rounded characters and their relationship progresses at a realistic pace, a couple that the reader can relate to. It was a refreshing change to see Sable doing the chasing and Gage the one resisting her advances. The supporting characters are interesting and complement the main characters very well. I'm hoping that Jake and Miranda will be getting their own stories told. Ms. White has penned an erotic, fun read with a fantastic dialogue, a story that touches the romantic side in us all and makes us believe in happily ever after. A magnificent story with a surprising ending!
The author succeeded brilliantly in pulling me right into a post-apocalyptic horror scenario. Her description of the environment and the living conditions nearly brought me to tears. Most buildings have been totally destroyed and the landscape is devoid of plants. Farming has become nearly impossible and lots op people starve to death. Kate and Hades are true alpha heroes, formed by a violent and cruel world. They seemed to be tough and emotionless, but deep inside they yearn for peace and, most of all, love.The artifact they're searching for is their only chance for a better future. The revenue they'll get for it will allow them to travel to the north, where the land is still liveable. It's a very gloomy story, but nevertheless the author managed to lighten it up with a strange kind of humour. Imagine a powerful alpha-male with sunstroke, babbling like a five year old child and behaving like an idiot, brilliant!
Be prepared to step into a magnificent world with fascinating heroes, intriguing minor characters and steamy sex scenes. But also be cautious for the book contains some extremely violent scenes. Not for the faint of heart.

Vivi Anna has peppered her post-Apocalyptic world with beautiful and foreboding landscapes; a sun that can fry an unsuspecting life form caught exposed at high noon, hyper evolved humanity, and mutated life-forms adapted to this unforgiving new world. I try to avoid futuristic novels as they tend to be too in depth and somewhat confusing, this was not the case with 'Hell Kat'. Ms. Anna glossed over details of how and why, leaving the reader to fill in the blanks as needed. She only included description pertinent to the story. Instead she focused on the human element of the story. Hell Kat and Hades are a match made in hell. They are so alike in many ways they can barely tolerate each other at first. When they come together the sparks flare. This book does not lack steamy, sweaty sex as well as a tough talking, and just as tough hearted strong female character. With an ending that promises future forays into Hell Kat’s world, Ms. Anna is definitely an author to keep an eye out for.
